Why do we call our parents mum/dad?your parents dont call you daughter/son
i mean, mum/dad is just a name of a relationship between mother and child.
we have a name for a reason, so why not use them?

Slowly, I began to awaken from a haze. Opening my eyes, I was met by a bright light. I shielded my eyes with my hand and saw tubes entering my arm. Looking around, I realised I was in a hospital. To my right I heard someone call for the doctor and then a moment later I felt someone touch my hand. Gazing up I realised it was a nurse.
